Day of the Dead at Mandala Beach Club

Without a doubt Mexicans know how to celebrate and not only in beach clubs like Mandala Beach Club, but also our deceased. As you may know, in this beautiful country we have a tradition, known as Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) which tells us that in the first days of November the spiritual portal opens allowing our dead to visit and for us to remember them.

The first day is known as the Day of the Innocent or the Day of the Angels. This is the day when those who died as small children come to visit us, so we prepare an altar with the things they liked in life.

The second day is called: Day of the Deceased or as most people know it: Día de Muertos, in which all those who have died after childhood can visit us and enjoy the things we have prepared for them, such as a celebratory party at Mandala Beach Club.

The altars that we make on these days are special, since according to tradition they must have the four elements (water, air, earth and fire) present in them, next to the favorite food or favorite objects of our loved one and a photo of this person.

Altar

As a celebration of life and death, these days you will not only listen good music with us at Mandala Beach Cancún at our commemorative pool party, but you will also find lots much fun.

There are also the popular Calaveritas, which are based on the shape of a skull, but it is a sugar candy, which are small poems referring to life and death and dedicated to our loved ones.

Día Muertos

Now that you know a little more about our culture, can you imagine a party like this, but in the vicinity of Mandala Beach? You can certainly celebrate in big, that’s what this party is all about, a celebration not to forget our loved ones, but also for the living to remember the beauty of life which you should not miss.

The Best Halloween Costumes 2017

We are getting closer to the most terrifying night of the year: Halloween! And as it  is tradition in the nightclubs of Cancun and Playa del Carmen you can enjoy the most terrifying and fun parties in the entire Mexican Caribbean.

If, like me, you have no idea who / what to dress up as, do not worry because I will show you my favorite options, which apart from being easy, cheap and fast to elaborate, will make you feel the night:

  1. Lilo (Lilo and Stich)

Only because it is Halloween it does not mean you have to look scary, so let’s start with a tender option.

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

All you need is: a red sleeveless blouse, a green skirt, a crown of leaves, your sandals, a leaf bracelet and an Open bar ticket for Mandala Cancún. Click here to get your ticket.

  1. Homeless

That’s right, a costume that you have probably never seen at any previous party. This way you can be sure you will be the only one with this costume, you will look as good as this girls.

Homeless Costume for Party

What you need for this costume is: a cap, a shirt, a pair of pants (yes, the one you wore and stained yesterday is perfect), a pair of tennis shoes (the ones you have not washed). A beard is optional and a sign with a phrase. Ready! You already have everything to succeed on the dance floor in this costume.

  1. Mavis (Hotel Transylvania)

Surely wearing a vampire costume will never go out of style, but what if you refresh it a bit, while saving money?

That’s right, you save money, since you only need 5 things: a black dress – all girls have one in their closet – some black stockings with red, some red tennis shoes, black lipstick and a lot of desire to spend an incredible night.

  1. Rope Doll

The most economic costume in the world, since you only need to wear your favorite clothes, you can wear this original and express costume (for those occasions where you forget or do not have one).

Key Doll

In order to make this costume you only need a little cardboard, spray paint and a spring or something similar to tie the key with.

  1. Waldo

That’s right, maybe you know him or maybe you don’t, but he is one of the most difficult characters to find at a party, but also the most original. You can make this disguise with things you surely have in your closet.

Waldo at Night

To be a Waldo you need: black shoes, blue denim trousers, a striped white shirt with red long sleeves, black glasses (like the ones you get at the movies) and a white striped hat with red.

  1. Piper Chapman

If you watch TV series you surely know who we are talking about, one of the main characters of the famous series Orange Is The New Black (OITNB). Maybe it’s not so easy to do, but I could not pass up the opportunity (I’m a fan of the series).

From jail to party

This is the suit they wear at the beginning of the show, being new inmates: you only need a white shirt, an orange shirt, pants of the same color, some black shoes and your badge of recluse.

  1. Men In Black (Men In Black)

Surly you know the movies in which two special agents fight aliens and have a device that erases your memory, a classic that came out in 1997 and its most recent sequel was released in 2012.

Let's Party in Black

What we need for this incredible costume is the typical black suit with a white shirt, black tie, black pants, black briefcase, black shoes, black sunglasses and your device to erase the memory (a silver pen will do).

  1. Stickman

There is no doubt that this is the most economic, simple and original costume you can find, a stickman is a figure made out of sticks and balls (as this blogger draws people).

Stick Party in Cancun

So simple that we only need a white long sleeved t-shirt, white pants, your most comfortable sneakers, a little black ribbon and a white disposable plate or a print of a happy face on white background. No doubt you’ll be noticed at the party and you’ll even win the costume contest. The prizes at Dady’O are fabulous, if you believe that your disguise is unbeatable, show it off in this den.

It does not matter if you wear a disguise, what matters is that you live the party in the best way possible, in the company of the people you love. Remember that life is a party so be sure it is always amazing!

Do not forget to share your disguise and how you celebrated Halloween in Cancun in our social networks! We are sure it will be an unforgettable night in this Caribbean paradise.

Interesting facts about Mexican Independence Day

We are just a few days away from one of the most important celebrations in Mexico: The Fiestas Patrias! This September we celebrate one more year of the Independence of our beautiful country and on the 15th and 16th of this month, in Mandala Cancun there will be lots of partying and tequila.

For you to begin to understand this celebration, we give you 5 important facts about Mexico’s independence:

1. Viva Mexico!

Is not exactly what Miguel Hidalgo shouted, some people claim that he cried “Long live our holy mother of Guadalupe!” and others say that the cry was “Viva America!” No matter what he shouted, Mexicans have adjusted and shout happily ¡Viva México! And to be able to give a shout like a true Mexican, maybe you need a little tequila to open your throat and it just so happens that in Mandala Cancun there will be a Tequila tasting of Don Julio which you should not miss and is included in your ticket.  To take advantage of this opportunity and to learn more about this national drink you should arrive at 9 pm.

2. Years later

The Independence was not recognized until 11 years later, so we actually celebrate the cry of Hidalgo and not the Independence of Mexico, which actually happened September 27th, 1821.

3. Two holidays!

Yeah that’s right! In Mexico we celebrate the Independence on September 15th and 16th, this is because the movement began on September 15th around 11 pm, but really, was achieved on September 16th. As you can imagine in Cancun we will also celebrate both days and therefor you get 2 national holidays in Cancun at the best price.

4. Change in plans

The rebellion was to begin on October 2nd, however upon being discovered, this had to be advanced, beginning on September 15th at 11 pm. Can you imagine how sad the month of September would be without Mexican nights?

5. International celebration

Year after year in Mexico City (capital of Mexico) the cry of Hidalgo is recreated, however it is celebrated around the world thanks to the fact that Mexicans living abroad do not forget their roots.
